The royal bodyguard

Priyanka Chopra wants to act tough and enjoys doing it. She learnt a thing or two about martial arts and yoga for Don. Now, for Goldie Behl’s Drona, she’s donning the part of a royal bodyguard to Abhishek Bachchan. For the film, she’s learnt a Sikh martial arts form called ‘gatka’. The film crew is hawk-eyed, keeping spectators away from the shooting spot. Goldie wants to keep Priyanka’s looks in the film under wraps.

Director Aamir Khan?

He is known to be a stickler to perfection and reportedly ghost-directs portions of his films. Now, Aamir Khan might just be making things official with his home production Tara Zameen Par, directed by Amole Gupte. The first posters of this film credits Aamir as writer and creative director. While on Aamir, the actor is also finishing his work for the remake of Gajini. Farah Khan approached Aamir to do a guest appearance for Om Shanti Om. Citing prior commitments, the Khan declined the offer. This explains why he is the only mainstream leading actor who’s missing from the promo song of Om Shanti Om.

Fifth time lucky?

By this time, you might have guessed that Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu starring Shobana. The Tamil remake Chandramukhi with Jyothika and its Telugu dubbed version turned out to be runaway hits too. The film was also made in Kannada with Soundarya. Bhool Bhulaiyaa will be the fifth version of the film. Counting on its success is Vidya Balan.

Making way for the biggies

Om Shanti Om and Saawariya are pulling all stops to rake in the moolah for the scheduled release on November 9. Huge sums of money are riding on these two biggies, which signal tough times for any film that would compete with these biggies. Hence, distributors and exhibitors are not keen on releasing any film for a week before and after the release of Om Shanti Om and Saawariya. A win-win situation for the biggies?
