Past in present

Rebel Star Ambareesh became more popular after he enacted the role of Kanwarlal in the film “Antha” which became a trendsetter film directed by S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu. Now, after a gap of nearly 26 years Ambareesh will be again donning the same costumes for another film of S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu. Babu is now making a comedy film titled “Thipparalli Tharlegalu” which features two actor-directors S. Narayan and Om Prakash Rao in the leading roles. Kannada film industry’s comedian Komal is playing another important role in the film. Recently, Ambareesh participated in a two-day shooting schedule and was happy that he is again donning the role of Kanwarlal. Incidentally, Ambareesh had played Kanwarlal’s role in “Operation Antha”, directed by Upendra.

In progress


The final shooting schedule of “Bindaas” in now in brisk progress. They shot in Hong Kong for two days, with actor Suman and heroine Hansika. A song will be picturised in Bangalore. Puneet Raj Kumar and hundreds of junior artists will be featured in it.

D. Rajendra Babu is the director of the film, produced by Chandrashekhar. Venu is the cameraman.

Incidentally, “Bindaas” heroine Hansika has already acted in the Telugu film “Desha Muduru” and the Hindi film “Aap Ki Suroor”.

Shivanna’s slot


Shivaraj Kumar is balancing his career by playing different of roles. He has been working in the film “Bandhu Balaga” produced by Soorappa Babu and Kamalakar and directed by Naganna. The film launched on November 7 at a temple, started full-fledged shooting from November 12 at Kanteerava Studios. After finishing shooting for four days in Bangalore, the unit will be shift to Channapatna.

“Bandhu Balaga” is based on a family oriented story by Janardhana Maharshi who has been gaining ground in the Kannada film industry after working in hit films like “Aakaash” and “Arrasu”. Incidentally, trade circles feel that family-oriented films of Shivaraj Kumar enjoy better patronage. But Shivaraj Kumar has other plans.

Legacy taken further


The harmonious relationship enjoyed by South Indian film industry’s two legends Dr. Raj Kumar and Shivaji Ganeshan is too well-known in the film industry. Infact, even after the demise of the two icons, the families keep in touch. Their relationship is further cemented with Power Star Puneet Raj Kumar signing a Kannada film to be produced by Sivaji Productions.

Sivaji’s two sons, actor Prabhu and Ram Kumar are overseeing the production. Earlier, Sivaji Productions had made the Tamil block buster “Chandramukhi” with superstar Rajnikanth. It will be the first time that a Kannada film will be produced by the production house. The film will be directed by P. Vasu who had earlier directed “Aaptha Mithra” for actor Dwarkish and also “Chandramukhi” for Sivaji Productions.
