Tamil literature on CD
Informative: A collection of CDs for kids.
Pebbles Infotainment, 60, Rukmani Lakshmipathi Salai, Egmore, (Ph: 4214 8722) has launched three Tamil literature CDs for children viz., Bharatiyar songs (a compilation of songs by the Tamil poet), Aathichoodi (a literary masterpiece by Avvaiyar) and
Tirukkural (the Tamil couplets by Thiruvalluvar).
Playback singer Srinivas has sung six of the Bharatiyar’s song in the CD with the lyrics being highlighted in the background for better understanding.
The CD pack is priced at Rs. 149. The lyrics in ‘Aathichoodi,’ the entire 108 couplets, are accompanied by a simple explanation. In addition, 60 couplets have been given with an explanation and an animated feature.
And in ‘Thirukkural,’ 100 couplets have been handpicked especially for the students and are supplied with their respective meanings. This CD collection, which is playable on PC, CD-ROM, VCD and DVD formats, is available at all leading bookstores and departmental stores. For details call 2854 6297.
