Rath yatra
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Chennai chapter, is organising the 25th annual Jagannath Rath Yatra to be held in the first week of January, 2008.
It will pass through the main locations of the city.
Hari-nama kirtana will accompany the procession along the route. Prasadams will be distributed to people along the way.
Elaborate arrangements are being made to make this Silver Jubilee year of the yatra very special.
On the occasion, ISKCON’s senior spiritual leaders such as Bhanu Swami Maharaj (chairman, governing body commission, ISKCON), Jayapataka Swami Maharaj (USA), Bhakti Vrajendra Nandan (Malaysia) and Bhakti Vikas (England) will address the gathering and deliver lectures on the Bhagavad Gita.

Recognition well-deserved
Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha is celebrating its 107th Year and conducting its December Music Festival (Dec 16 to Jan 3, 2008) at Vidya Bharathi, 55, Bheemasena Garden Road, Mylapore, Chennai.
On Dec 28, 6.30 p.m., at the venue, Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti (who will also preside over the function) will confer the title ‘Nadha Yogi’ on R. K. Srikantan, for his dedicated and continued service to Carnatic music.
A. Natarajan and V. V. Sundaram will felicitate the musician.
This programme is being held in association with Sri Lalithakala Academy Foundation, Mysore.
There will also be a special concert by R. K. Srikantan after the event.
