Goddess galore

Fantasy and mythology are fast making a comeback on television. After “Ravan”, “Naginn” and “Alladin” now Star Plus has come up with “Jai Maa Durga”, a devotional fictional weekly, replacing “Nach Baliye”. It is produced by Sagar Arts, known for providing a healthy contraption of fantasy and mythology. An adaptation of Durga Shaptshati, Prem Kamath, VP Marketing, says it aims to touch the lives of the ordinary people with its inspirational content and bring their inner strength to the forefront. Shalini Kapoor is playing the goddess and has interestingly turned vegetarian to bring the right feel.

Wild side

Animal Planet has come up with an action packed series “Planet Wild”. The 13-part series, airing every Friday at 8 pm, delves into the lesser known lives of animals and reveals the intricate portraits with a difference as they struggle to survive to find mates, utilise their diverse habitats and interact with their neighbours. Each episode follows animals and studies their behaviour to comprehend their daily lives and issues surrounding it, like koalas moving out of their family net tempted by a new love interest or dolphins controlling their moods to avoid family feuds.
