Turn of the wheels
The world might have to wait for Hyundai i-10 but the i-10 has not had to wait to win accolades. At the recently concluded CNBC Auto and NDTV Auto Awards, Hyundai i-10 walked away with the Car of the Year trophies. While CNBC also gave it the Small Car of the Year award, NDTV, putting it slightly differently, also called it the Best Compact Car of the Year.
Incidentally the two channels have started a new concept for satellite TV with their active association with the automobile industry.
Customer satisfaction
The awards were announced on the basis of customer satisfaction. CNBC’s awards for the Best Value for Money Car was given to Maruti SX 4 while Best Designing and Styling went to BMW 5 series. In the NDTV ceremony, the Midsize Car of the Year went to Mahindra Renault Logan, Executive Car of the Year to Nissan Teana, Premium Luxury Car of the Year to BMW 5 series, SUV of the Year to Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Car Manufacturer of the Year to Maruti Suzuki.
