Pleasing concert Aboli Sulakhe
Aboli Sulakhe, a disciple of Pt. Hariprasad Ghosh and Pt. S.C.R. Bhat was in the city to present a sarod concert organised by Shubashini Smrithi Sangeethotsav, at A.V. College campus recently. She is the head of the department of music in Shivaji College affiliated to Shivaji University at Barsi near Sholapur.
Aboli started her concert with raag Bhagyashree set to teen taal. She played with grace the alaap, jod and jhala. The vilambit and drut ghats presented were equally pleasing to hear.
She followed it with another melodious raag Misra Shivaranjani.
She showed her dexterity and mastery in handling the instrument.
She concluded her concert with a bandish in raag Bhairavi true to the Hindustani tradition.
The audience in small number thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Aboli was accompanied on the tabla by Harjit singh, a local artiste and disciple of Gajendra Shewalker, who gave good support, though at times slipped on the beats when the Sarod artiste increased her speed.
