Renovation

Sixteen kilometres south of Mannargudi is the tiny hamlet of Thirumakkottai. It is home to one of the oldest shrines of Lord Narayana. Sri Ranganayagi Sametha Sri Ranganatha Perumal temple is now in a neglected state. It is believed that bachelors and spinsters would be blessed with matrimony after a darshan of the Divya Dhampathis here.

Most part of Sri Ranganayagi Thayar’s temple and the Hanuman sannadhi are in ruins. The cost of renovation is estimated at nearly Rs.60 lakhs. The samprokshanam is slated for January 2009. Donations may be sent in the form of cheque/ DD drawn in favour of ‘RNRNP Trust’ payable at Chennai. For details, contact: 044 - 2844 1959/ 94443 89306 or e-mail: rnrnptrust@yahoo.co.in.
