Do not equate Tibet with Kashmir, BJP tells NC

Jammu (PTI): The BJP on Thursday took strong exception to the reported statement of former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, who allegedly tried to equate Kashmir with Tibet.

"We take strong exception to the statement of Abdullah for trying to equate Kashmir with Tibet. This exposes the inner of the National Conference leaders who had been conspiring to distance the state from rest of India," BJP leader Chaman Lal Gupta told reporters here.

Gupta asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India by virtue of the instrument of accession signed by the the late Maharaja like other 558 Rajas and Nawabs of the country.

This accession was ratified by even the state constituent assembly which was the creation of Abdullah's father late Sheik Mohd Abdullah. The history and events of Kashmir and Tibet are quite different, he said.
