MP CM announces rewards to policemen for SIMI arrests
Bhopal (PTI): Praising the efforts of Madhya Pradesh Police in nailing the network of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in the state, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday announced rewards for police officials involved in the operation.
The Inspector General (IG), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Dhar Superintendent of Police, Additional SP and City Superintnedent of Police (CSP) will be rewarded with a revolver each on August 15 (Independence Day), Chouhan told reporters.
Besides Police Station incharge and Sub-Inspectors will get Rs one lakh cash, while head constable and constables involved in the action will get an award of Rs 50,000 each.
To a question he also said that the government will consider giving out of turn promotion to the above police officials.
The state police not only curbed the activities of SIMI, but also dealt sternly with naxalite and dacoity menace, he added.
