    Cong misusing Doordarshan, alleges BJP

New Delhi, April 4 (PTI): The BJP yesterday alleged that Congress party was misusing Doordarshan to serve as its platform for the election campaign in Uttar Pradesh.

"It is ironical that the Congress, which has no presence in the state, should get so much of time-slot for publicity and other main parties are being totally ignored," senior BJP leader P Venkiah Naidu said.

He said the party will go to the Election Commission and would lodge a complaint against "misuse" of the national broadcaster on which every party or citizen had equal right.

Referring to clashes between two groups of a community in Lucknow and Kanpur yesterday, Naidu said "It seemed the Samajwadi Party is getting weak and weaker everyday and now it is resorting to polarising the society though such acts."

When pointed to a Congress party claim that it will get 100 seats, Naidu quipped "You mean a century? The Indian cricket team too had made same claim and look at what happened to them."

He also flagged off 'Chunav Rath' (election chariot) for campaign in UP at a ceremony at party headquarters here.

"Four more raths are on the way and the artists through mimes will spread the election message of BJP to the people and expose ill-deeds of the ruling government," he said.
