Delhi blasts: Haryana sends its forensic team

Chandigarh (PTI): In the wake of the Delhi serial blasts, Haryana has send a forensic team to study the "nature of blasts".

"The team went to Delhi and they will be preparing a report on the nature of blasts and what kind of devices were used. Haryana being a state bordering Delhi, we want to prepare ourselves to meet any threat posed by terrorists," Haryana's Additional Director General of Police (law and order) V N Rai told PTI on Sunday.

He said security has been strengthened at all markets in the state, cinema halls, parks, religious and other public places like bus stands, railway stations.

"Vigil has been stepped up, particularly in the NCR region as many of our districts including Gurgaon, Faridabad and Rohtak are close to Delhi," he said.

He said plans were also afoot to install more CCTVs in crowded markets and shopping malls.

"We will also be intensifying our public awareness campaigns and make people more aware on the need to keep a watch around their surroundings," he said.
