Wainwright (Canada) (AP): Officials say a small plane with five people aboard has crashed in Alberta.

There is no official word yet on whether there are survivors.

The rescue coordination center at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario, says military personnel and police are investigating wreckage at the site.

The single-engine aircraft took off from Edmonton, Alberta en route to Winnipeg, Manitoba when it disappeared from the radar.
