    Actress Radhika expelled from AIADMK

Chennai, Oct. 18 (PTI): Actress Radhika, wife of former Rajya Sabha member Saratkumar, who joined the AIADMK along with her husband on the eve of the Assembly polls in May 2006, was today expelled from the primary membership of the party 'for acting against the interests of the party.'

Announcing Radhika's expulsion, party supremo Jayalalithaa instructed partymen not to have any truck with her.

Radhika, a popular south Indian actress and Managing Director of RADAAN TV, a television serial production company, is one of the key content providers to SUN TV, owned by DMK leader late Murasoli Maran's family.

She was also recently in the eye of a controversy when she acted in an advertisement produced by Coca Cola, giving the company a clean chit after a voluntary organisation alleged that the drink had high pesticide content.

Daughter of actor, the late M R Radha, she joined AIADMK along with Saratkumar, who had resigned from the DMK, alleging that he was subjected to humiliation by family members of party president M Karunanidhi. While Saratkumar campaigned for the AIADMK in the assembly polls, Radhika did not do so.
