Youth dies in bomb blast in Iraq

Tiruchirappalli, May. 3 (PTI): A 23-year-old youth from Varaganeri here has died in a bomb blast last night in Iraq, his family members said today.

Parents of P Ganesan, who was working as an assistant cook in Iraq, got the news of his death early this morning, they told PTI today.

Ganesan had joined an agency in Iraq supplying food to the US army ten months back.

As per the information they got from the agency at 3.30 am, one more Indian has died in the bomb blast. However, they were not told how the blast had occurred and where.

The parents, Perumal and Indirani, both illiterate labourers, said they had spoken to Ganesan last night around 9.30, over the phone.

After hearing the news, they also approached the district administration officials seeking help to bring back their son's body.
