Auditor assault case: Kanchi seer asked to appear in court
Chennai, July. 2 (PTI): A Sessions Court today fixed July 23 for framing of charges in the 'auditor Radhakrishnan assault case' and ordered the Kanchi Sankaracharya Jaynendra Saraswati and ten others to appear before the court on that day.
Jaynendra Saraswati, Kanchi Mutt manager Sundaresa Iyer, Raghu (younger brother of junior Acharya Vijayendra Saraswathi) and others are facing charges of attempt to murder in connection with the assault on Radhakrishnan here in 2002 at his residence.
First Additional Sessions Judge Mohamed Issath Ali dismissed the petitions filed by Sundaresa Iyer and Raghu, seeking discharge from the case and posted the case to July 23 for framing of charges.
The judge directed all the accused to be present in the court on that day.
