"Conservation of Monasteries will promote Ladakhi culture"
Jammu, (PTI): Lauding the role of Ladakhi Monasteries in building ethical character of the people, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Power, Nawang Rigzin Jora, has called for educating the natives for its conservation.
"Monasteries are the richest heritage resources of Ladakh which play significant role in socio-religious development of Ladakhis," he said at a seminar on "saving Ladakh Monasteries heritage," organised by University of Jammu here Friday.
He emphasised on educating the people for conservation of the worship places for Lamas, as these have tremendously contributed in building ethical character of the people for which they are famous all over the world.
Besides, the Monasteries have also placed Ladakh on the tourist map of Asia.
