    Jayalalithaa congratulates Modi

Chennai (PTI): AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa on Sunday said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's victory in the Assembly elections had brought hope to people that "India could still be saved from the clutches of unscrupulous power mongers."

In a congratulatory message to Modi, a copy of which was circulated to the media here, she said, "I have no doubt that under your strong and inspiring leadership, Gujarat will rise to greater heights of all round progress and development."

"Your spectacular victory has brought hope and cheer to the vast majority of people in this nation who now believe that all is not lost and that India can still be saved from the clutches of unscrupulous power mongers," she added.

Jayalalithaa also spoke to Modi over the telephone and congratulated him on leading the BJP to a spectacular victory, an AIADMK release said.
