J&K police intelligence strength may be doubled

Jammu (PTI): A proposal to double the strength of Jammu and Kashmir Police's Intelligence Department is under the consideration of the state government.

This is being done under a comprehensive programme of expansion and streamlining of the J&K Police so that a composite and modern force evolves in the state, top state home ministry sources said.

The sources said that the proposal of the police to increase the strength of CID (intelligence wing) by nearly 100 per cent is in the final stage of consideration by the government.
