    Telemedicine service for tsunami-hit children

    Porayar, TN (PTI): Nagapattinam district administration has decided to make use of telemedicine services to provide psychological treatment to the tsunami-hit children.

    Inaugurating the telemedicine services on Wednesday, K S Kandaswamy, Nagapattinam DRO told reporters that about 1,247 children, who had been diagnosed with psychological problems in the district, would be provided counselling through video-conferencing soon.

    Teachers and NGOs working closely with the tsunami-hit children, particularly orphans, had reported that many children were having psychological problems. The district administration, in coordination with an NGO urged services of experts from Chennai in this regard.
