    SREI Infra consortium emerges lowest bidder for UP road project

    New Delhi (PTI): A consortium led by Kolkata-based SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd has emerged as the lowest bidder for the Rs 1,141 crore road project on National Highway-91 in Uttar Pradesh.

    Other members of the consortium are Agra-based construction services provider PNC Infratech Ltd and Dubai's construction and engineering firm Galfar.

    "We have emerged as the lowest bidder for the project. The work will be awarded to us in two weeks," PNC Infratech Director Chakresh Kumar Jain said.

    The project involves 4/6 laning of 125 km strech on NH-91 between Ghaziabad and Aligarh.

    "The concession period is 24 years and construction has to be completed in 30 months from the date of award fo the project," Jain added.

    The road work has to be given on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis and the toll charges would be collected by the concessionaire.

    PNC Infratech is also engaged in runway development for Lucknow and Gwalior airports, apart from executing road projects in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.
