Chennai (PTI): Tamil Nadu Assembly was adjourned on Monday for the day after condoling the death of sitting Congress legislator D Selvaraj.

Soon after the session started, Speaker R Avudaiappan read out a message condoling the death of Selvaraj.

The House also took note of Selvaraj's contributions and observed a two-minute silence.

Mr. Selvaraj, who died on Sunday, was elected from Srivaikundam constituency in the 2006 Assembly polls.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin expressed shock over the demise of Selvaraj.

Union Fertilisers Minister M K Azagiri also expressed his grief over the death of the Congress MLA.
