L&T Infotech begins work on 5,000-seat centre

Mumbai, (PTI): L&T Infotech on Saturday formally began construction of its L&T Technology Centre-II, a 5,000-seat software development centre.

"This proposed L&T Technology Centre-II signifies the long-term aggressive growth that L&T Infotech is poised to achieve. We are rapidly building facilities like this to take advantage of upcoming opportunities," L&T's Chairman and Managing Director, A M Naik, said on the occasion, a company release said.

"Following the footsteps of L&T in scaling up the minimum size of its accounts, L&T Infotech is also scaling up the minimum size of its accounts," Naik said.

Company Chief Executive, V K Magapu, performed the `bhoomi poojan' for the proposed centre here. The construction is expected to be completed in about 18 months, it said.

The centre will be a twin-tower structure and will have an office area spread over 5,39,000 sq.ft, a basement covering 2,52,000 sq.ft, in addition to a terrace having a helipad facility, the release added.

    L&T Infotech is a wholly-owned subsidiary of L&T Limited.
