TCS renews IT services pact with Virgin Atlantic

Mumbai (PTI): Software exporter Tata Consultancy Services has renewed its IT management services contract with global airlines firm Virgin Atlantic Airways till 2011.

Under the renewed pact, the Tata group firm would continue to manage Virgin Atlantic's global end-to-end IT systems including the infrastructure and application support services, TCS said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday.

TCS would also manage the US firm's relationships with other third party IT vendors.

"Today, airlines need to effectively exploit IT more than ever to be successful in a very competitive marketplace. Thanks to our ongoing partnership with TCS we have the right partner to enable this," Virgin Atlantic's IT director Mike Cope said.
