    Maharashtra Governor lauds Tendulkar

Mumbai (PTI): Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir on Friday congratulated master blaster Sachin Tendulkar for becoming the highest run-getter in Test cricket, surpassing West Indian great Brian Lara in the second Test against Australia currently underway in Mohali.

In his congratulatory message, Jamir said, "Cricket fans across the world are overjoyed by your (Tendulkar's) impressive feat of scoring highest runs in Test cricket."

"You (Tendulkar) have already joined the galaxy of all-time great players in both, the Test and One-day format, and the latest achievement is a feather in your cap."

"On behalf of the people of Maharashtra, I congratulate you on reaching this very significant milestone and hope that you will continue to scale newer peaks of success in your future cricketing career," Jamir said.
