Patwardhan's documentary to open Jazeera fest
Dubai, April 20. (PTI): The Third Al Jazeera International Documentary Film Festival in Doha will begin on April 23 with the movie 'You Did Not See' by Indian director Anand Patwardhan.
"The film shows how advanced technology are used to kill people without seeing or hearing them. It shows Internet images that never appeared in the mainstream media, because of the global censorship on the coverage of the war on Iraq." Abbas Arnaout, Manager of Al Jazeera Production Centre, said.
The aim of the festival, which will last till April 26, is to promote better cooperation and understanding among people and cultures by offering a platform for cross-cultural communication and interaction. It also aims to bring the work of independent film makers to the forefront.
There are 129 films competing for the awards. The jury comprises 15 international members from 14 countries with outstanding experiences.
