Film city to come up in MP: Shatrughan Sinha
Indore (PTI): Madhya Pradesh government is taking interest in setting up a film city in the state, noted actor and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha said here on Friday.
"The government is actively considering my proposal for setting up a film city in the state and has also shortlisted land for the purpose," Sinha, popularly known as 'shotgun', told reporters after inaugurating the International Film Festival of Tribal Art And Culture (IFFTAC-2008) along with Randheer Kapoor.
Sinha said he had discussed the idea of setting up film city in the state with Ashutosh Rana and Raghuveer Yadav, both of whom belong to MP.
Sinha hoped the state government would select a location near Bhopal soon so that the project could take up final shape.
To a question on giving exposure to tribal artists, he admitted that they have not got the exposure they deserve, but added once the film city is established in the state, it will provide them the much needed platform to showcase their talent before the world.
When asked about getting financial help from the state government on the issue, he said he has submitted his proposal without any specific interest and added there are various ways to meet the resources including "public, private, partnership".
