    Deshmukh's son weds TV actor

Mumbai (PTI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's son Amit will wed TV actress Aditi Pratap Ghorpade here on Thursday at a ceremony expected to be attended by bigwigs from politics, business and entertainment industry.

Deshmukh, who is into his second term at the helm of Maharashtra, had visisted Delhi along with wife Vaishali to personally invite President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and other dignitaries for the wedding.

The President would be attending the reception, scheduled to be held on February 29, an official in the Chief Minister's office told PTI. The schedules of Singh and Gandhi were yet to be confirmed, he added.

Amit is Deshmukh's political manager in his Latur constituency in Marathwada region and is chairman of a cooperative sugar factory which has come up near another set up by his father in 1980s.

Aditi is the daughter of Bangalore-based businessman Pratap Ghorpade who belongs to a family of Marathas who settled in the South centuries ago.

At least eight to ten Central ministers may be attending the wedding to be held at a posh suburban hotel, the official said.

In attendance will be Deshmukh's other sons Riteish, a film actor, and Dheeraj. In his five-year Bollywood career, Riteish has acted in several hit films.
