Are you going to work with passion or sink in worry?

It is the age where success is being redefined to encompass not only technical and market success but also simple happiness and satisfaction at work.

We would truly like to pursue that which stimulates the mind, and empowers our will. Satisfaction, challenge, growth and contentment are what job seekers look for and have taken on the role of creating such employment opportunities for themselves.

It begins with intention and a strong will and a commitment to yourself. Are you going to work with passion and drive or sink in worry and monotony? Make an unrelenting, unwavering choice. Success begins with will.

Great leaders who are the hallmarks of triumph and accomplishment did so by creating their own definitions of success. Their unique vision, belief and principles inspired them and many others. Success lies in values and principles. Define your core values, your passions, and priorities these will guide you to success and help you understand that success lies in following these visions and principles and not in any material conquest.

Set out the goal and then hope to conquer all. Leaders of the industry, entrepreneurs, heads of organisations, set clear goals in their field of interest and also envisage a plan to get there. Know your dream, make a realistic path, and set out. This could be a new business venture, a new project at work, or even learning a new skill.

Success is in humble beginnings. Hence, start small if need be if you can’t start a new venture, work for someone else in the same field. Do everything you possibly can to get closer to your goal. It isn’t easy to achieve a dream, but small steps can create the entire journey.

Never cease to learn and this will give you satisfaction. Learning abounds in every opportunity.

Look for learning, literally everywhere. Failure is the best teacher, as it teaches you what you lack, what mistakes you make. Failure however is futile if it is lamented and wasted.

The same pitfalls will keep repeating themselves if we don’t learn the lesson.

One may encounter fear, trepidation or nervousness but these too are paths on the way to success. Many leaders have known fear, yet what distinguished them is their resolve not to languish and lose to fear. Fear is also a guide, a teacher. From fear one can learn of what one is truly worried and insecure about and then overcome these limitations.

The pursuit of success entails developing an understanding of the notion of success itself.

It cannot be a materialistic chase but rather a true quest for fulfilling one’s dreams and providing service to the world. Work becomes greatness, when done in the spirit of service.

Success is ephemeral, temporary and not satisfactory, when numbers define it. Yes, material success, market growth should also be a goal, yet, the underlying must always be empowerment and use of talent, pursuit of passion and interest, unceasing learning and in this there is the real joy.
