Time to vote for a Bangalorean
Rahman
YOU HUNT for success, fame, recognition, glory and for the right gal or guy... then, there are others who hunt for talent. These are the ones who make sure that you get your choice.
Yet another hunt is on, but this time it is not the wannabe Pop Stars that take centre stage but the MTV VJ contest finalists. Young people full of spirit, confidence, charm, grace and of course, good looks rule the airwaves till June 30. The 14 finalists will display their talents on MTV and leave it to the people to decide the winner. The number of people who will be selected has not been disclosed. One of the finalists is Rahman from Bangalore.Rahman has been an active emcee in the City for the past year and a half. He has done it all, from corporate bashes to wild parties and from product launches to music shows. This 24-year-old studied at Frank Anthony Public School and is a pharmacist. ``But I soon realised that a nine-to-five job was not for me,'' he says. He has been very confident of being selected from the moment he auditioned. ``I have all that it takes to be a good VJ. I have loads of talent, a lot of confidence, the right attitude, and enough spunk and skill. I carry myself well and can identify with the audience out there no matter who they are. Give me any crowd in Bangalore and I will rock them.'' He has always been a ``Bollywood guy'', and is more into Hindi music. He is into this for the experience and the exposure, and because he knows that he is the right one for the job. ``It was not at all difficult for me to face the camera as I have done a request show for a local channel. I know how to handle myself before a camera.''
It does not bother him that other finalists have had more exposure or experience. ``I am one with the crowd and my years as an emcee stand me in good stead.
''His one request to the Bangaloreans is that they vote for him. ``I know Bangaloreans will vote for me. And they know I will make them proud. So go ahead and vote as many times as you want. I am all set to rock Asia.''
