Kapil Dev in a new role.
LE MERIDIEN continued its record of having celebrities as guests and the latest was none other than cricketing legend Kapil Dev. In town as Brand Ambassador for the World Cup Network of Sony Entertainment Television, Kapil Dev attracted as many autograph seeking fans as in his heyday. No dearth of gushing women among them either.
Kapil has charted the course of many famous Indian victories almost single-handed. Captaining India to win the Prudential Cup in 1983 was the highlight of his career. Now he will represent and promote the MAX and Sony association with the ICC Cricket Tournaments, starting with the ICC Championship Trophy in September, followed by the World Cup in February 2003.
