Cup chatter

``EVERYTHING DEPENDS on the referee'' is the talk now going among Bangalore's soccer fans. Excitedly watching every FIFA World Cup match on giant screens in the City's hotels and pubs, they have their own favourite teams. As any bookie in town will tell you. The wrath of the fans and, especially the punters among them, is directed against Korea. ``Spain deserved to win and the referee had no right to disallow their two goals,'' the soccer fans say. There are an equally vocal number of supporters for Italy too. At the Irish theme pub Dublin, there are two sections reserved for the fans of opposing teams and even England had its flag waving supporters. But then, Bangalore did have a special place in the Raj.
