Blockbusters for kids

SUMMER HOLIDAYS are so long gone, but the fun is not about to end.

Britannia's Children Film Festival 2002 is at hand, with a whole lot of shriek-inspiring movies on the cards _ starting with Shrek on July 8, Monday.

The proceeds of the festival from July 8 to 13 at the Woodlands Theatre, Royapettah, will go to Dr. Sunithi Solomon's YRG Care Hospital for HIV and AIDS patients.

Tickets for the series, which will be screened from 9.45 a.m. to noon, are being distributed primarily through schools. ``Some 20 schools and 6,000 children come for the festival from LKG to Eighth Standard,'' says a member of Showstoppers, which has co-ordinated the event, now in the fifth year.

Other blockbusters lined up for the fest are 101 Dalmatians, Lion King, Star Wars Episode and the Emperor's New Groove. For the schedule and more, call 98402 33894.
