At long last

The Khans may call the shots for the most in the big forgetful world of Bollywood, but for this particular Khan, it has been a rather long wait for recognition. He carried the tag of a non-actor for quite a while before Ram Gopal Varma happened to `discover' the actor in him. That was nearly two years ago.

Not much has changed for Fardeen Khan since the release of ''Jungle'' really. He still does not have a big hit to his credit. There have been some good releases like ''Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega'' and ''Pyar Tune Kya Kiya'', but these only helped his career from sinking and not quite make it.

But good times might just be around the corner. The remake of the National award winning film ''Kalisumdaam Raa'' is just around the corner. And then up for release will be ''Om Jai Jagdish'', Anupam Kher's maiden venture as director. And this is what the young Khan has to say about his new director.

``He is simply fantastic. He is an actor's delight. He knows what an actor needs and plays on the psyche of the characters. He knows his character so well that it becomes easy to work with him,'' quipped the star, who was in town recently for the promotion of ''Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahein'', slated for a June 29 release.
