Self prophecy

POLITICIANS ARE known to have a marked weakness for astrology, but what about a politician himself ending up as an astrologer and palmist to boot?

The former Union Minister and Congress leader, S. Krishnakumar, who has been let off the FERA hook at present, is learnt to have become a sought-after hand when it comes to reading the future.

The bureaucrat-turned-politician now says he has had a flair for fortune-telling right from his youth. He is able to detect "vibrations'' from people who come near him, which help him to make accurate predictions.

``There was this lady who tried to test me by asking me about the future of her children.

However, by looking at her palm, I was able to say that she was unmarried,'' he says with pride.

A noted astrologer had once predicted that his reputation as a public servant would be badly tarnished, says Mr. Krishnakumar.

He refuses to make political predictions, but has been confident enough to announce his second entry into politics after the "agnisuddhi'', as he calls his bad patch.
