In sync with fans

TELEVISION CHANNELS have many music talent hunt programmes. But "Gandharva Sangeetham'', being aired by Kairali channel in the name of K.J. Jesudas, is being conducted in such a way as to ensure the maximum participation.

The programme is being hosted by the noted playback singer, G.Venugopal, and the child prodigy, Aparna, the grand daughter of the veteran poet, O.N.V. Kurup, is the co-hostess in the junior section and Gayathri in the senior category. The competitions, being aired by Kairali on Saturdays and Sundays, began at Neyyattinkara on May 18. Three episodes would be shot in each district and children from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod will participate in the programme.

Venugopal says the selection process is strict and extra care is being taken to maintain the quality of the programme in the name of the "Gana Gandharvan'' of Malayalam film music.
