`June Dhamaka'
IT IS not a `Dhoom Dhamaka'. But it's going to be a `June Dhamaka' on the 30th of June in the Tamukkam grounds.
Only once or twice a year such events happen in the city with playback singers from the tinsel world.
For 2002, this is going to be the first musical night with high voltage voices of Anuradha Sriram and Malgudi Subha and the melodious voice of Unni Menon.
If the light music lovers remember, it was in the same month previous year, when Madurai heard Shankar Mahadevan and Mahalakshmi Iyer who signed up for a promotional campaign of a satellite channel and also Anuradha Sriram who came down on request from a soap company.
Anuradha who delighted the audience with her then famous number, ``karuppu thaan enakku pudicha colouru'', is expected to come out with her recent tremendous hit, `O podu' that is hummed by all irrespective of their age.
Says Ramesh of the Sound Foundation, the event managers of the show, "We are basically banking on this super bang number to boost the commercial activity of the `creamy' product.'' Of course, to reap a creamy result.
Being the third event for the foundation in Madurai (previous one had SPB and Yesudoss sharing the platform in 1998), the sound and light system will be impressive, they promise.
`Saathaga Paravaigal' from Chennai will do the score.
Timothy, who sang the title song of `Dil', will join the other three singers.
