New Release

Oxford University Press has announced the launch of the Concise Oxford Dictionary (COD). The new revised edition of the COD (10th edition) has a large number of new words apart from a glossary of text messages. A large number of text messages, which are used in SMS (Short Messaging Services) have been included in the new COD. New abbreviations to be found in the new COD include B4 (before); BBL (be back later); BCNU (be seeing you); CUL8R (see you later); HAND (have a nice day); IMHO (in my humble opinion); RUOK? (are you okay?); XOXOX (hugs and kisses). The new COD has over 600 words of Indian origin.

The launch of the new COD in an attractive new look by the OUP in collaboration with the British Council will take place at the Council's Video Centre on 20th August 2002.
