New lease of life ... Subroto Kundu.

NEARLY 70 oil and acrylic paintings grace the walls. For Subroto Kundu, these are part of a series that he hopes provides him the resurgence that is much needed. There was a feeling of restlessness when after almost five years, Kundu turned to Rabindranath Tagore's Geetanjali seeking the inspiration he felt he needed to infuse new life into his work. In a sudden rush of creativity, Kundu started to paint the drawings. "I have moved away from the beaten track,'' said Kundu. He has, instead of using the known symbols to express an idea, created icons.
