On silver screen

SHE shot to fame for her friendship with Salman Rushdie. But today Padma Laxmi, one time model, is making tentative forays into the world of alternative cinema. And the first role that she has bagged is with director Kaizad Gustad in his new venture called "Boom." The plot may sound a bit askew to Indian film-goers but Gustad has not let that bother him. Laxmi, meanwhile, is looking forward to the venture saying that this would be the perfect break into home territory.
