SAFFRONART presents its annual online winter auction to be held during December 1-4. The paintings to be auctioned, includes almost 190 lots dating from the pre-modern period to present contemporary artists including F.N. Souza, S.H. Raza, M.F. Husain, Tyeb Mehta, and Ram Kumar, as well as the leading contemporary artists such as Atul Dodiya, Jitish Kallat, Baiju Parthan. A select group of these paintings will be displayed during each of the previews, allowing bidders to have a closer look prior to engaging in some exciting bidding that has been the hallmark of Saffronart's previous auctions. THE National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi presents London born artists Amrit and Rabindra Kaur's latest exhibition titled "Past Modern".
The Singh twins as they are popularly known present a series of paintings, exploring cultural, social and political issues of global significance within a highly decorative Indian miniature style, reinventing, reinterpreting and successfully contemporising this ancient art form. Growing up at Mercyside, Liverpool, the twins have an unusual oeuvre to their art practice. Working together as a single artist in most of their work they negotiate borders in their work production. Images of the everyday, the multiculturalism of their environ and habitat colour their images. The exhibition shall be on display until December 20.

ALLIANCE FRANCAISE plays host to a series of lecture demonstrations by Monica Singh called "Window to the Indian Arts" on December 2 and December 9. The speaker converses at length on diverse aspects of Indian tradition and thought, from Buddhism in western Himalayas and Sufi music to the dances of Kuchipudi and Dandia.

AN exhibition of paintings by Senaka Senanayaka organised by the Apparao Gallery in Chennai will be displayed at The Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, December 1-7.
Senanayaka, the most renowned artist in Sri Lanka, captures the vivid hues, lustrous moods and the vibrancy of the tropics.
In the world of dark depressing events, Senaka chooses to paint a happy idyll. He picks the naive approach and joyous colours and forms creating a montage of the flora, fauna and people of South Asia.
Painting since the age of 10, Senaka's works have been collected by connossieurs, institutions and collectors all over the world.
In fact, a large mural adorns the foyer of the U.N. headquarters in New York. This is his first major exhibition in India.
