Irrespective of Lagna and Rasi, is it true that Mercury with Sun not in Mithuna or Kanya, or in any Kendra, but in the 12th promises the best education?

THE reference may be to a Tamizh saying, "Maraintha Budhan Niraintha Kalvi" (hidden Budha promises high education). The saying is of limited value. For good higher education, the role of Budha is important as Vidyakaraka. His position helps in predicting education, but is not sufficient in itself. Budha should not be afflicted; he should own good houses counted from Lagna. The 4th Lord (Vidyasthanadhipathi) and the 5th Lord should be well placed. Lagna and Lagna Lord should be strong, and the native blessed in life with favourable Mahadasa-s at the right time.
