BRITISH COUNCIL presents "Roots En Route", an exhibition of works by artists with training in the United Kingdom. Curated by Alka Pande and Sushma Bahl, the exhibition showcases the cross-fertilisation that results when creative people move from India to the U.K. and vice versa. The artists are Bose Krishnamachari, Eleena Banik, Pampa Panwar, Rajnish Kaur, Ranbir Kaleka, Ravikumar Kashi, Ravinder Reddy and Sonia Khurana.

At Gallery Sumukha, 24/10 BTS Depot Road, Wilson Garden till June 5 from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.


STRIKING images are part of the work of four young artists who work with different forms and mediums. Sculpture by Ravi Shah, paintings by C.R. Nanaiah and Avinash Veeraraghavan, and site-specific installation by Prashant Soni. At Sakshi Gallery, The Presidency, St Mark's Road, till June 7 from 10.30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

IMPRESARIO, a non-profit organisation that promotes classical music, has organised a concert by well-known sarod artiste Rajeev Taranath. The musician undertakes concert tours for six months in a year and, during the other six, he teaches Hindustani classical music at the California Institute of the Arts, Los Angeles. Proceeds from the concert will go towards the Karuna Animal Welfare Association (formerly SPCA). Donor passes (Rs. 200, Rs. 150 and Rs. 50) at Casapicola, Planet M, Gangarams and K.C. Das. At Chowdaiah Memorial Hall on June 1 at 7 p.m.

CARNATIC music lovers can enjoy vocal, flute and saxophone concerts during the three-day programme organised by the Bangalore Silicon City Jaycees. A vocal concert by Nithyasree Mahadevan (granddaughter of D.K. Pattammal) on the first day, K.S. Gopalakrishnan's innovative flute recital on the second, and a concert by Kadri Gopalnath on sax to wind up the series. The charity event will aid two organisations: a home for aged, destitute people and orphaned children, and a school for the speech and hearing impaired. At the Gayana Samaja, K.R.
