From Liril to drama
WITH a stint at the London School of Economics, Tara Sharma, could have headed anywhere in the corporate sector. But this now familiar "Liril girl" has been so smitten by the world of acting that she chose to return home and try her luck. First were the ads, "I continued to shoot for them even during my vacations, but my break came when Anupam Kher offered me a role in `Om Jai Jagdish'." Sharma said that she was familiar with the showbiz world since the age of 11, when she faced the camera for the first time. "I was hooked," said she adding that acting became a passion with her. Obviously her commitment seems to have paid off and Sharma is now making waves with her recent role in "Saaya". "It's not a ghost film in the typical sense of the word," adds Sharma of her latest project. And though she insists that she has not "planned out" her career, she is more than happy with the way it has shaped up so far. "I do have a couple of projects under my belt but that's it and I really do not believe in chalking out my career. I'm taking one step at a time and I hope that works for me."
