THE T.K. Jayarama Iyer Memorial Concert presented by Gayathri Fine Arts features a Carnatic violin recital by V.S.K. Chakrapani on August 10 at 5-45 p.m. at Triveni Chamber theatre. He will be accompanied by Kumbakonam N. Padmanabhan on the mridangam, Palakkad N.K. Sreeram on the kanjira, Mannai N. Kannan on the ghatam and Venkatesh R. on the morsing. There will also be a percussion ensemble at 5 p.m. by disciples of Kumbakonam N. Padmanabhan

"STORIES UNTOLD" is the title of an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Makhan Saha at Shridharani Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam, Tansen Marg till August 17.

AS part of Yatrik theatre group's 40th anniversary celebrations, the British Council presents "Gitanjali", adapted from an original play, "Albertine in Five Times" and directed by Joy Michael, on August 12. On August 13 is a video screening of excerpts from "Lady Windemere's Fan" and "Salome", by Avijit Dutt, Lola Chatterji and Kusum Haider. August 14 features an play by Poile Sengupta, "Mangalam". All programmes start at 7 p.m. at the British Council, Kasturba Gandhi Marg. There is also an exhibition, "Yatrik 40 Years On" till August 14, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Queen's Gallery on the premises.

THE eminent musician, composer and scholar Pandit Ram Ashreya Jha "Ramrang" turns 75 this August. To felicitate him, his disciples including Shubha Mudgal and Rajan P. Parrikar have organised an event in the auditorium of the Chinmaya Centre for World Understanding on August 16, beginning at 6-30 p.m. The highlight of the evening is a vocal recital by the maestro, accompanied by Purushottam Walawalkar on the harmonium and Aneesh Pradhan on the tabla.
