Off to Canada

M. MOORTHY

IT was news that rocked the Indian publishing circles. As Penguin strongman, David Davidar, gets ready to pack his bags and leave for his new post with Penguin Canada, he set to rest some of the rumours that followed his new posting. "I've taken this as a challenge," said Davidar, adding that Canada is a huge market for, and had produced, some of the best writers.

He said that he would continue to be involved with the India list and none of the authors here would have any problems. Even as Davidar takes stock of his new assignment, he plans to take a month off to write his second book. Which is, "shorter than the last one and much more contemporary."
