`Play' of young talent

Five colleges will participate in Natak — an inter-collegiate theatre festival to be held from November 21-23 at the Rani Seethai Hall in the city.

IT'S TIME again for young talent to take centre-stage. Natak — an Inter-Collegiate Theatre Festival, is being held from November 21-23 at the Rani Seethai Hall. Launched last year by Masquerade, a performance group dedicated to practising and promoting theatre in the city, Natak is an endeavour to encourage theatre among the youth. And the response from the colleges involved has been tremendous.

This year, five city colleges will be participating: IIT Madras will perform `A Play in a Play' (group composition), JBAS for Women — `Necessary Targets' (Eve Ensler), MOP Vaishnav for Women — `Mangalam' (Poile Sen Gupta), Stella Maris College — `Riders to the Sea' (John Millington Synge) and Women's Christian College — `The Price to Pay' (Shahina Zahir).

For further information about the event visit www.masquerade.freeservers.com/natak2k1/natak2k1.html. or call 98410-19151 or 3716740.
