Toon time for teenagers

Cartoon Network has literally shaken up night time viewing with its all-new programming line-up targeted at teen and adult viewers who seek smart and exciting animation at its best. The new array of programming launched on November 17 is exclusive to the Night Shift and includes the Indian television premieres of hot new series; an exciting mix of animation and a one-of-its-kind animated talk show. The all-new Night Shift programming premieres exciting animation series like Home Movies, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Harvey Birdman, the Brak Show, aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab 2021.

Night Shift targets an older demographic of teens and young adults, which forms 35-40 per cent of Cartoon network's current audience share. Night Shift's on-air packaging, recently filmed in Mumbai, is also designed to appeal to teens and adult viewers of the Network.

Home Movies created by Loren Bouchard airs Saturdays 10.00 p.m. and centres around the socially awkward and undersized third grader, Brendon Small.

Through his ever-present video lens he provides a refreshing insight into the dysfunction of adults in his life.

Animation series Space Ghost Coast to Coast takes the air on Saturdays at 10.30 p.m.. Fully costumed and with an array of superpowers, Space ghost is joined by archenemies Moltar and Zorak whom he has enslaved as unwilling members of his late night crew. The inquisitor grills a range of "Pop Culture" luminaries.

Harvey Birdman on air on Saturdays at 11 p.m. is the world's first animated courtroom drama trying the crimes and misdemeanours of the cartoon world.

The Brak Show which follows at 11.15 p.m. is about the high school travails of Brak and Zorak as they spend their formative years in outer space suburbs.

The surreal adventures of the Aqua Teens will be telecast at 11.30 p.m. Sealab 2021 at 11.45 p.m. is a kitschy update of a Hanna-Barbera production about an undersea city, where the whole Sealab went insane and unfit to run anything.

Sunday Night Shift showcases the animation series Sheep In The Big City, which is a story about a sheep that has run away from the farm to hide out in the big city because a Top Secret Military Organisation is after him. Weasel and Baboon, heroes of the series I am Weasel, join Sheep. And then comes The Popeye Show.

Mondays through Wednesdays one can enjoy Johnny Bravo and The Adventures of Tintin. Superfriends, which premiered on November 19, helps lift viewer's spirits.

Adding to the excitement is Boomeraction, which follows after the double dose of Superfriends on Thursday nights.
