Melodious tunes

SIMPLE TUNES set to uncomplicated orchestrations is one of the notable features of the Malayalam album, "Ormayil Oru Vasantham".

Written and produced by Balakrishnan, the well-known lyricist, scriptwriter and director of Malayalam films, the album has been brought out by New Horizon Music.

The music director is `Cochin' Alex.

With a host of singers, including the veteran playback singer Jayachandran, lending their voices, the eight songs are interspersed with commentary on each song.

The tracks have diverse influences to suit the voices of Ganga, Mahati, Raj and Meena, among others.

If "Ambala Muttathe" is all about the pangs of love, "Annarakotta" and "Kochu, Kochu Muthaninja" are foot-tapping tracks for children.

If the soothing "Adadu unni Addadu" is a lullaby, "Gowri Shankar" is a devotional about Lord Shiva.

For more details on the album, call 6445058 or 98410 24629.
