The right ambience

Aesthetic, engaging and contemporary... at Ambience, silk vies with cotton and metal for attention. Check out the lifestyle store at its new premises.

AMBIENCE. A metaphor for contemporary lifestyle in Chennai combining new age effervescence with a sophisticated subtlety of mood and colour, texture and design language.

Ambience opens doors to more style and substance at 13, Bheemanna Garden Road, Alwarpet.

In an old house, the new outlet showcases complete themes and concepts for living rooms, bedrooms and children's rooms.

For those looking for exclusivity, there's Thotta Tharani designed stationery, paper lamps, bathroom accessories and artefacts.

"We are trying to sell concepts, from furniture, upholstery, curtains to accessories, floor coverings and even tiles," says Roopa Paresh of Ambience.

The new Ambience presents three to four sitting room themes, each based on different textures, mood and furniture ranging from overstuffed comfortable look to metal minimalism.

The `theme look' works as accessories and soft furnishing in textures as varied as metal, wood, metal wood, silk and cotton.

The bedroom settings are done up in cotton and silk. The metal bed and furniture teams up with the cool charm of cotton while the silk bedroom is opulent with its crafted wooden bed and upholstery in soft jewel tones.

Silk upholstered cushions, curtains, comforters and upholstery complete the picture of opulence and style.

There is a special room for cotton lovers as well featuring Zanow cottons in bright colours, checks and stripes and in wonderful weaves.

A patio with a collection of masks displayed on the wall and a children's room featuring furniture with bright furnishings complete the picture.
